The Wrestleline Report-Sat., Jan. 20, 2007

Hello wrestling fans and welcome to your Saturday Indy Wrestle Line update...I'm Randy Klemme, your independent wrestling "Weekend Warrior".

Our birthday shoutout of the day goes out to Referee David Lee, who is celebrating a birthday today. One of the more enjoyable referees to deal with on the local independent scene, David Lee can be seen refereeing a show somewhere almost every weekend...

This is a truly busy weekend around the independent wrestling scene. There are a number of shows around the midwest this weekend and it will be a great time to get out and support your favorite independent wrestling organization...

Taking a quick glance at some of the shows coming up tonight...

Ringside Wrestling Federation will have their first show in nearly a year and a half as the debut at the Circle City Flea Market, 3825 S East Street on the southside of Indianapolis. The night will be highlighted with former WCW Superstar Buff Bagwell taking on Itch in the main event...

In Greensburg tonight, WCWO returns to the Decatur County Parks Center for a big night. Belltime is at 7pm...

The EWF Arena in Marion will be rocking tonight with wrestling action. On the card is EWF Heavyweight Champion Osyris....Midwestern Champion Big Richard Cannon and the EWF Tag Team Champions Ames and Able. Belltime is at 7pm at the EWF Arena, 3400 S Adams in Marion, Indiana...

In Madison, AWA Supreme will have their weekly show at 821 Main Street in Madison. The belltime in Madison is 7:30pm...

Also tonight you will find shows at the Clinton County Fairgrounds in Wilmington, Ohio with Northern Wrestling Federation....Mountain Wrestling Association at the Estill Street Jubilee in Mt Sterling, KY....and All-American Pro Wrestling at the Old School Gym in Royalton, Illinois.

I am sure there are many more around the midwest....if you attend a show tonight or are directly involved with the show, we invite you to e-mail your results to mwirandy@peoplepc.com...or you can leave them after the report and you will be given full credit as a reporter on the Indy Wrestle Line....

Now to a little of Big R on the Soapbox....

The WWE announced they were cleaning house. At last report, 16 contracted wrestlers were released from Raw, Smackdown, ECW and OVW. Some of the releases made sense, because some have not been seen on WWE TV in quite a while, HOWEVER, when you release a decent worker and KEEP people like the so-called Divas that cannot work a wrestling match, or guys like The Mizz or Jonathon Coachman that are a waste of payroll, then you have to wonder which way the WWE leans....the markee says WRESTLING VINCE! Let's start by releasing the eye candy divas....let's keep Jillian, Mickie James and Victoria and start a REAL womens division again. Let's keep the Untouchables, the Hardy's, Kane & Taker, MNM, teams like that together and have a REAL tag team division....THEN let's see how the ratings do with the TRUE professional wrestling fans. While TNA has a long way to go in competing with the WWE, I think they are on the right track. Only time will tell if they have enough money behind them to sustain and grow...

I want to hear some of your thoughts on the current state of the WWE....Do you want to see professional wrestling or do you want to see T & A and I am NOT talking about the down south wrestling organization.
