TNA has announced that this spring they will launch a new mobile video game in conjunction with Longtail Studios and Advanced Mobile Applications.

In what has to be some of the strangest news I've heard in a while, WWE.com has actually listed, under their 'Industry News' section, the TNA house show, ppv & tv taping schedule for March.

Speaking of TNA, Impact will be airing live on March 27, then TNA will tape two more episodes of Impact on 3/28-which is the date of the WWE HOF ceremony and 3/29-which will be going head to head with ROH's Orlando show.

For some weird reason TNA was actually suprised the wedding show of Impact didn't score a higher rating. Hmm, I can't imagine why.

The Summerslam Anthology box set due out on 8/5 will retail for $249.99.

There is talk of a Ricky Steamboat DVD in '09.

If the Best of Starrcade DVD does well then we may see a Best of the Clash of the Champions DVD as well.

There are no plans to release any future DVDs for ECW.

The 2008 Hall of Fame will be included in the deluxe edition release of Wrestlemania 24. No word yet on if it will be included on the Blu-ray edition or not.

It's being reported that Ron Killings will continue to work full time with AAA until WWE gives him a start date.

Smackdown Spoilers:

(1) Big Show d. two unkown opponents in a two on one match.

(2) Jimmy Yang & Shannon Moore d. Deuce & Domino.

(3) Chuck Palumbo d. Jamie Noble.

- Batista vs Umaga is announced for Wrestlemania.

(4) Batista & Kane d. Great Khali & Umaga.

(5) Jesse & Festus d. The Miz & John Morrison in a non title match.

(6) Big Daddy V wrestled Balls Mahoney to a no contest after a run in from Undertaker.

- Undertaker Chokeslammed both Balls and BDV and called out Edge but Edge sent out his Edgeheads to do his dirty work instead.

(7) Undertaker d. Zakk Ryder.

As of late Shane McMahon has drastically increased his presence at WWE creative meetings and is throwing out all sorts of suggestions. It's interesting that Shane is involving himself more just as Stephanie is heading out for maternity leave in June. We could end up seeing some major changes in the WWE with the success of his latest idea (Mayweather/Big Show).

Friday's Smackdown did a 2.7 broadcast rating, AM Raw did a 0.7 cable rating, and TNA's Saturday Impact replay did a 0.4 cable rating.

The March 10th edition of Raw will be 3hrs long.

An article ran yesterday in Kentucky stating that Jerry Lawler is a part owner of a new furniture store in the town of Owensboro, the store will be called King Lawler Furniture.

The latest trailor for the upcoming movie "Get Smart" featuring The Rock is online, the trailor also features current WWE Superstar The Great Khali.

Maria's Playboy cover has finally leaked on the internet. I found it on thewrestlingoutlaws.com in the specials section.

TNA is said to be treating the 3/9 Destination X as a throwaway PPV. They are more concerned with building towards the Lockdown PPV as it is one of their big 3 events of the year. Speaking of Lockdown tickets go on sale this Saturday for the event. The presale password is Cage.

I also gave the TNA spoilers for tonight's edition of Impact, for those interested in those spoilers but don't call the hotline please just scroll down a little.

What do Hulk Hogan, Jessica Simpson, and Kiss member Paul Stanley have in common? If you said all have had a bad TV reality show, your thinking of the wrong member of Kiss. Here let me tell you, they are all going to be neighbors at the Palms Palace in Las Vegas. They are among the first celebrities to buy penthouses in the new Sin City highrise.

This years Royal Rumble DVD was officially released yesterday. The DVD also has Jeff Hardy taking on Randy Orton from the January 14th edition of Raw as a bonus match(the match where the scaffolding was utilized).

After ECW last night Chavo slapped CM Punk, which lead him to lay out Chavo with a kick and then celebrate with the ECW Title in the ring. Eventually when Chavo got up, the crowd was booing him pretty badly, he thanked his raza for showing him so much love.

The Wrestleline Report-Sunday

TNA's house show in Westbury, NY drew 3000 paid fans. Attention TNA-RUN MORE EAST COAST HOUSE SHOWS

Chris Sabin has been catching a lot of heat lately for his tag partner-Alex Shelley's actions. Sabin is known to go with the flow, and pretty much do what's expected of him, while Shelley likes to rock the boat.

Kevin Nash has been receiving a lot of praise for helping Sean Waltman and Scott Hall get help.

TNA Impact going live seems to be more dependent on whether or not Spike TV gives the OK, which from the sounds of it, is likely to happen.

Jeff Jarrett would love to see Impact go live on Monday nights to compete with RAW, but Spike is not too high on trying to compete with WWE right now, and honestly, it would probably be the dumbest business move in the company's history-and that's saying a lot.

Justin McCulley, former New Japan wrestler & tag partner of Chyna, is being rumored as Brock Lesnar's next UFC fight, in London, England on 6/14.

Speaking of MMA, Mark Cuban-whacky billionaire entrepreneuer-was recently asked in an interview if he was talking to any of the McMahons about involvement in his future MMA group, and his response was 'absolutely'. It's been no secret that Shane McMahon is a big fan of the sport, and has been trying for quite sometime to get some involvement in MMA, but Vince has always been a bit gunshy about going forward, so we'll see how this eventually turns out.

The Rock will be in attendance at the Academy Awards tonight.

Already confirmed for next week's Impact is a Ladder Match between Eric Young and James Storm for the drinking championship belt. Also confirmed for the show is Kevin Nash vs. TNA Champion Kurt Angle and TNA Knockout Champion Awesome Kong vs. Angelina Love.

TNAWrestling.com has pulled the announcement of WWE superstar Tommy Dreamer appearing at their New York City house show at Webster Hall this past Thursday night. Dreamer is still under contract with World Wrestling Entertainment.

TNA will release the Global Impact DVD on ShopTNA.com next week. The DVD will include all of the matches between TNA and New Japan Pro Wrestling talent at the Tokyo Dome last month.

The Wrestleline Report-Friday

Kurt Angle vs Samoa Joe for the TNA World Title has been confirmed for Lockdown.

The official theme for Destination X is "Life Story" by Crash Anthem.

Footage from the live event last night in NYC is now up at TNAwrestling.com.

Tickets for the upcoming live events in St. Louis, Springfield, Missouri, and Evansville, Indiana are now on sale.

Hermie Sadler has stated in a recent interview that TNA is in talks with FOX and NASCAR about cross-promotional opportunities.

Former TNA Knockout, Leticia Cline-who has also appeared in Playboy-will be on the next season of 'Beauty and the Geek'-produced by Ashton Kutcher.
Highlander Rory McAllister (Russell Murray) underwent surgery on 2/10 on his completely torn pectoral. He will be out of action for six months.

Former TNA personality and "Survivor" star Jonny Fairplay did an interview on the Ron and Fez show claiming he was going to sign a TNA contract. Speaking of Fairplay, he recently called Roddy Piper to tell him he was going to name his daughter Piper.

Speaking of "Hot Rod," Piper was telling people at the Royal Rumble that he is completely cancer free.

More on the Smackdown situation; WWE receives about $700,000/wk from the CW Network for Smackdown-MyNetworkTV paid IFL about $50,000 per first run episode, and $20,000 for repeat episodes. The production costs for WWE Smackdown-weekly-is about $630,000. There is talk that if WWE goes to MyNetworkTV, that Smackdown would also move to a more desireable time slot, such as Tuesday or Thursday night, although the outlook for going to that network just isn't that great.

Prior to WWE dropping Ohio Valley Wrestling as a developmental territory, WWE encouraged OVW boss Danny Davis to take out a long-term lease at the Davis Arena without hinting they intended to cut ties with the Louisville based promotion.

Sean Waltman is in a pretty nasty prediciment right now. Apparently Kevin Nash flew out to Texas a few weeks ago to check Waltman into rehab, and also contacted Triple H to help get Vince to pay for Waltman's rehab. Nash is said to have also been very instrumental in getting Scott Hall into rehab. For those who haven't heard about Waltman's 'supposed' suicide attempt, apparently what happened was his girlfriend, Alicia Webb, found him barely alive in their Mexico City apartment, after attempting to hang himself. She said that he was purple, and had broken blood vessels in his eye and face. Waltman has denied this claim, stating that he had a bad reaction from mixing alcohol and anti-depressants.

Smackdown Spoilers:

- Edge along with Hawkins and Ryder cut a promo talking about Wrestlemania. The lights went out and when they came back on Undertaker was in the ring. Taker chokeslammed both Ryder and Hawkins but Edge got away.

(5) Chuck Palumbo d. Matt Jackson.

(6) Batista d. MVP.

The Rush Report- Thursday Edition 2/21/2008

Chris Jericho and his band Fozzy will be releasing a new CD called " All that Remains" soon. The CD will come with a bonus DVD which will feature a U.K. concert in front of around 20,000 people.

Raw this week did a much higher rating than usual, they came in with a 3.97 cable rating, thats an average of around 5.6 million viewers.

Nick Dinsmore returned to OVW last week to do a TV angle where he just woke up from a bad dream of being Eugene. Going by the angle his time as Eugene was all a dream. He is now back to being Nick Dinsmore and his old "Mr. Wrestling" gimmick and wearing his normal gear. At the tapings he defeated WWE developemental wrestler Andrew Vain on that edition of OVW TV.

Lance Storm posted on his website Stormwrestling.com that he will be undergoing double knee surgery today. After needing both his knees scoped for about 2+ yrs he is finally going through with the surgerys.

Early PPV buyrates for the UFC 81 PPV(the one with Brock Lesnar) are being reported as around 600,000 domestic buys. If this number is accurate, UFC 81 will go into the books as the 5th highest bought PPV in the company's history. An interesting fact is that number if accurate is around 40,000 buys more than WM 19 where Lesnar fought Kurt Angle in the main event.

CZW has announced this week that they have signed an international distribution deal with Locomotive Vision. This deal is for worldwide distribution of the product and will place CZW DVDs into most major DVD retail outlets. The first release will be in stores this summer.

TNA's upcoming videogame will have a brand new feature never before seen in a wrestling game. The feature is you will be able to create your own entrance themes for your created wrestlers.

I also gave the TNA spoilers for tonights edition of Impact. If you scroll down for a second they are already posted on the website.

The Psycho Shooter Drake Younger steps into the Hotseat

Wrestling fans tonight I had the pleasure of interviewing IWA's, CZW's, IPW's, Chikara's, MPW's, international journey man, and Naptown Dragon Drake Younger. This man holds numerous titles and he had tons to say about what he and the Naptown Dragons have coming up, his recent CZW UZU title win , and much more. You should be sure to call the hotline and check out this latest edition of the Hotseat.

Rodney Rush

The Rush Report- Wednesday Edition 2/20/2008

According to prowrestling.net and the SD spoilers(see below post) Rey Mysterio will miss being in action at WM again this year, and will undergo surgery this Friday to repair his recently torn bicep. This does not mean he wont be making an apperence at Mania though.

Shelton Benjamin qualified for WM 24's MITB ladder match last night at the SD tapings in a match with Jimmy Wang Yang(also see spoilers in below post). That makes 3 out of the 8 involved in the match.

Chris Jericho, RVD, Mick Foley, Roddy Piper, Christian Cage and several others will be featured in a new wrestling documentary DVD entitled "Bloodstained Memoirs" that will be released in the next few months. I'll give you more details as I recieve them.

If TNA should ever go with the idea of an all ladies show look for it to air on a different network than Spike TV. They would be going the same route UFC did when it purchased the WEC.

The upcoming TNA PPV Destination X already has a planned DVD release date of May 13th.

TNA has added the following dates to their live scheduled events calander Springfield, Missouri on 3-19, Evansville, Indiana on 3-20 and St. Louis , Missouri on 3-21

ROH has some highs and lows this week. Their 6th anniversary show will take place this Saturday in New York City and be headlines with the main event of Nigel McGuinness taking on Bryan Danielson with the ROH World Title on the line, now thats a great match and a great high point for ROH. Now onto the low Viewers Choice in Canada has announced that they will no longer carry ROH PPVs due to low buy rates. Well I guess you win some and you lose some.

411mania.com currently has an exclusive podcast interview up on their site with Mike Quackenbush talking about the upcoming Chikara show "The King of Trios". This is a great interview and I urge everyone to go check it out.

Lance Storm has posted 2 new articles on his website stormwrestling.com, one giving his opinion on this weeks Raw and one talking about the Undertaker's semi new finishing move.

And in a final note PPV companies are working on a new technology that will prevent you from recording PPVs onto your DVD recorders. You would still be able to use a VHS recorder to tape PPV events but this tech will make it nearly impossible to record them to DVD. Some cable companies are currently using similar tech to stop people from recording WWE 24/7 broadcasts to DVD.

Thanks goes to 24wrestling.com, prowrestling.com and 411mania.com for parts of this update.

The Rush Report- Tuesday Edition 2/19/08

WWE News and Notes: The 2008 Hall of Fame ceremony will air on the USA Network on Saturday, March 29th at 11pm est.(going head to head with Spike TV's replay of TNA Impact) and on Sunday, March 30th at 2am est. after the 1am airing of AM Raw. The bigger story though is last night on Raw, Ric Flair was the 1st person announced to be inducted into the Class of 2008.

During Raw Jeff Hardy and Mr. Kennedy both qualified to be part of the eight Superstars to compete in WM 24's Money in the Bank ladder match. Also on Raw John Cena got himself added to Randy Orton and Triple H's title match at WM, by defeating Orton in a non title match, last night with Triple H as special ref. With the addition of The Undertaker taking on Edge for the SD title, the card for Mania seems to be coming along very well.

And in what is news to atleast to WWE.com and celebrity gossip sites, Lindsay Lohan was backstage at Raw last night visiting with Superstars like John Cena, JBL , and Rey Mysterio. In the only redeeming part of this story Lindsay and Superstars also spent time backstage visiting with children from The Sunshine Dreams of Canada Foundation.

With Jeff Hardy qualifying for the MITB match at Mania this marks the 6th consecutive year that the IC belt won't be defended at WM. William Regal losing the strap to RVD at WM x8 was the last time it was defended at the major event.

The pre-show dark match last night was Jim Duggan defeating one of the Highlanders, they also taped Heat prior to the show, heres the quick results: Hardcore Holly over Charlie Haas, Mickie James beat Melina, Lance Cade got the win in a match with Brian Kendrik, and in the main event of Heat Carlito defeated Cody Rhodes

TNA News and Notes: The Against All Odds PPV sold about 3,500 tickets for the event but roughly only 2,000 of those fans paid. The last week preceeding the PPV TNA ran a buy one get one free sale and that helped their numbers quite a bit.

TNA is planning on Impact airing live on Spike TV for the 1st time on March 27th(they will also be running against ROH). They would tape the following weeks edition on the 28th.

Thanks goes to prowrestling.com, 24wrestling.com, and 411mania.com for parts of today's report.

The Rush Report- Monday Edition 2/18/2008

WWE Related News and Notes: JBL recently told the Baltimore Sun that during a recent match with Chris Jericho he had a tooth knocked out and he hasn't had time to replace it yet. Also JBL mentioned that he returned earlier than he intended too and still has some ring rust to remove.

THQ is promising that the 2009 edition of Raw vs Smackdown will have the biggest roster of Superstars and Divas ever and will have a "groundbreaking" new feature on the game. Raw vs Smackdown 2009 will be released later this year, probably in the early fall.

No Way Out results: Pre show dark match saw Kane chokeslam and defeat Shelton Benjamin. Chavo retained his ECW championship against CM Punk in the PPV opener. Then a promo with Rey and Floyd Mayweather Jr. airs. Then The Undertaker wins the SD Elimination Chamber match aand will be going to WM 24 to fight for the SD title. Edge, Vicki, Edgeheads, and Teddy Long promo where Teddy bans the Edgeheads from ringside during the title match tonite. Ric Flair makes Mr. Kennedy tap out thus surviving to fight another day. Next Vince tells Finlay he's gonna hurt Hornswaggle on Raw. Edge defeats the injured Rey to no surprise. After the match Big Show returns stating he's lost over 100 lbs and is going to be a champion again, then he proceeds to slap around Rey, which brings Floyd Mayweather to Rey's defense. Big Show drops to his knees to get to Mayweathers level and Show pushes him then Mayweather begin to punch the hell out of Big Show, breaking his nose and bloodying him up real good in the process. Shane comes out to calm the Big Show down. John Cena defeats Randy Orton via DQ after Orton blantently slaps the ref. In the main event of the night Triple H wins the Raw Elimination Chamber to go on to WM 24.

The preview for tonites Raw features hype for Hornswaggle's match with Vince in a steel cage, Cena/Orton backlash, Santino's ultimatum to Maria, and will Triple H have anything to say about going to Mania and his victory in the Chamber last night.

Other Global and National Wrestling News and Notes: Big Vision is presenting for one night and one chance for XPW to return for Cold Day in Hell, May 24th in Redondo Beach, CA. This of course will be a DVD taping and is due to the high sales of recently released XPW DVDs from Big Vision. CDIH will feature alot of stars of XPW's past including Sabu, Vampiro, Supreme, The Sandman, Vic Grimes, Pogo the Clown, Nosawa , for the first time in 10 yrs the reuniting of the Gangstas(New Jack and Mustafa) and many more.

Over on Declarationofindependents.net they have posted a leaked e-mail from ROH promoter Gabe Sapolsky to the ROH roster and staff. This is a interesting read for our smarky visitors.

In Japan yesterday either before or during the New Japan show former IWGP champion Yugi Nagata was rushed to a hospital for severe head pains and loss of control of his left side. Medics on site believed he suffered a stroke. On the show Makabe and Yano defeated Travis Tomko and Giant Bernard(Albert from the WWE) for the IWGP Tag Titles and Shinsuke Nakamora(IWGP 2nd Champion) defeated Kurt Angle(IWGP 3rd Champion) to unify the titles. Christopher Daniels, Jushin Liger and AJ Styles were also on the show.

The Wrestleline Report-Sunday

Right now the rumored Wrestlemania 24 card looks like Randy Orton vs HHH vs John Cena, Finlay vs Vince McMahon, Edge vs Undertaker, Ric Flair vs Batista, MVP vs Matt Hardy, Money in the Bank, JBL vs Chris Jericho and Jeff Hardy vs Shawn Michaels.

One thing that could stop Smackdown from moving to MyNetworkTV is HD. The station currently does not offer and apparently has no plans to anytime soon.

The track list for the upcoming WWE album titled 'The Music: Volume 8' has been released by WWEShop.com. There are a total of fourteen themes on this new CD and these are of Jeff Hardy, Kofi Kingston, Beth Phoenix, Mark Henry,
Hawkins & Ryder, Jillian, Mr. McMahon, ECW Theme, Jesse & Fetus, Candice Michelle, John Morrison, Shelton Benjamin, Mr. Kennedy and Chris Jericho.

It's being rumored that the fifth season of Hogan Knows Best, airing this month on VH1, will focus solely on Brooke.

It is believed that a push will be made for WWE to stage Wrestlemania in 2009 or 2011in Mexico City, Mexico, possibly when WWE returns to the country in May for the Wrestlemania Revenge tour.

Part of WWE's decision to part ways with Ohio Valley Wrestling is that John Laurinaitis ear-marked a good amount of money for Florida Championship Wrestling, and to justify the investment, severed its nine year relationship with the Louisville based promotion.

For those interested, Karen Angle's Myspace‏ page is myspace.com/officialkarenangle

WWE No Way Out Preview & Predictions:

Orton v. Cena-either a shmoz, or Orton retains

Edge v. Mysterio-Edge retains

Chavo v. Punk-Chavo retains

Raw Elimination Chamber (Y2J v. JBL v. HHH v. HBK v. Umaga v. Hardy)-Due to WWE doing the "unexpected" crap now, either Trips or Hardy win

SD Elimination Chamber (Taker v. Finlay v. Big Daddy V v. MVP v. Khali v. Batista)-Taker wins

Flair v. Kennedy-I'm making a bold prediction. Flair loses, but gets somewhat of a 'do or die'/one last chance match at Wrestlemania.

The Wrestleline Report-Saturday

I'd like to send my thoughts and prayers out to the friends and family of NWA wrestling legend, Johnny Weaver, who recently passed away at the age of 72.

The Motorcity Machine Guns of Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley currently have some backstage heat for a number of reasons including an incident where they refused to do a blade job when attacked by Team 3D.

Other matches that are likely for Destination X include Petey Williams vs Jay Lethal, Eric Young & Kaz vs Rellik & Black Reign and Gail Kim vs ODB vs Awesome Kong.

Kurt Angle vs Samoa Joe is currently the scheduled main event for Lockdown. TNA is planning to build things around Samoa Joe as the top guy for most of 2008.

Former TNA wrestler Apollo is back in jail after missing a scheduled court date for failing to pay child support.

The lockeroom Morale in TNA is said to be pretty high right now. The veteran wrestlers such as Kurt Angle, Kevin Nash and Booker T don't act better than anyone and seem to get along with most of the younger and lower card talents.

The Global iMPACT! DVD is scheduled to be released in the next 2-3 weeks.
There is now talk that Lockdown 2008 may be held in the New England area

Mike Johnson reports that Abyss will be off of TV for a while to play up the current storyline that he may be done. He is then scheduled to return in a few months unmasked and will most likely wrestle under his real name.

Tomko d. Alexander Otsuka last night at Antonio Inoki's IGF show.

There are rumors flying around that rapper, Eminem, aka Slim Shady, aka Marshall Mathers, aka whatever the hell he feels like calling himself for the moment is training to become a pro wrestler. This is something that is being kept pretty secretive, for some reason, as it's not really known who's even training him, just that he's receiving private lessons, and is about 3-4 months away from making his wrestling debut. WWE's publicist has denied that they are in talks with him about coming to the company, and honestly, this seems more like something that TNA would try and pull. As always, we'll keep you updated!

Friday Night Smackdown scored a fast 2.8 broadcast rating.

There's reports that Rey Mysterio was injured during a match in Chile recently. It appears as though he may have suffered a bicep injury, and may require surgery that will keep him out at least six months. Sad to hear, as he hasn't been back that long from his last injury.

The Rock is going to be involved in a project called 'Planet 51', a 3D/cgi/big budget film that will also feature the likes of Jessica Biel and Seann William Scott, whom The Rock worked with in The Rundown. The Rock will be playing astronaut Chuck Baker. On a side note, The Rock will also be a presenter at this year's Academy Awards.

Stone Cold has said in a recent interview that he's working on two more movies.

Pro Wrestling Insider reports that Samoa Joe has signed a new long term deal with TNA through 2011. Joe was offered a new deal last year and turned it down. The two sides have been renegotiating since and it looks like they finally have things all squared away. This is a big deal as TNA can not afford to lose Joe. Many promotions in Japan have shown interest in him as well as the WWE. Look for Joe to get the strap in upcoming months.

TNA in Talks with Coach Bobby Knight!?

TOTAL NONSTOP ACTION WRESTLING OFFERS COACHING JOB TO BOB KNIGHT

Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling is offering its first-ever Head Coaching job to Bob Knight, the all-time winningest Division I men’s basketball coach known as much for his coaching genius as his fiery temper, who resigned Monday in the middle of the season as the Texas Tech coach.

“TNA Wrestling was shocked, like the rest of the sports world, to hear Coach Knight resigned,” said Jeff Jarrett, co-founder of TNA Wrestling, who was a high school and junior college basketball player in Tennessee before becoming a professional wrestler. “Coach Knight is a sports icon and we’d be thrilled and honored to have him join the ranks, to further build TNA Wrestling into a national power, much like he did for Texas Tech.”

Knight, 67, has been a head coach for 42 years at three Division I schools: Army, Indiana and Texas Tech. Knight won three national championships, including his 1976 Indiana team that went undefeated, a feat no team has done since. In 1984, he coached the U.S. Olympic team to a gold medal in Los Angeles.

TNA Wrestling has a lighter schedule than college basketball which should appeal to Coach Knight, Jarrett said, and TNA not only endorses chair-throwing, but has an endless supply of steel chairs.

In addition to Jarrett, the TNA Wrestling roster also features Kevin Nash who, during his high school basketball career in Michigan had an in-home recruiting visit from Knight. Nash, though, ultimately played at the University of Tennessee, then professionally in Germany.

TNA Wrestling delivers a distinct brand of high-risk, athletic entertainment. TNA’s roster includes the biggest names in wrestling today, such as Kurt Angle, Booker T, and Christian Cage, as well as the hottest new stars in the business: A.J. Styles, Samoa Joe and the Motor City Machineguns. TNA features the innovative six-sided ring and the high flying X-Division, as well as concept matches such as “Ultimate X,” “King of the Mountain,” “Six Sides of Steel,” “Lethal Lockdown” and “Elevation X,” considered the most dangerous match in professional wrestling.

TNA Entertainment, LLC is a privately held company headquartered in Nashville, TN. For more information, visit www.tnawrestling.com. TNA programming is available in over 100 countries. “TNA iMPACT” airs every Thursday night on Spike TV (9:00 – 11:00 PM, ET/PT). Spike TV is available in 96.1 million homes and is a division of MTV Networks.

More on Lashley's Departure from WWE

Bobby Lashley was recently medically cleared to return to action. Lashley spoke to John Laurinaitis about his return. In his return phone call, Lashley told Laurinaitis that he wasn’t coming back.

Laurinaitis has drawn a lot of heat on himself for the way recent departures have bad mouthed the company on the way out.

There are a number of factors that led to Lashley’s departure from the company. Among them include Lashley’s Wrestlemania 23 payoff. It is believed Lashley earned $250,000, but apparently he heard stories of $1 million Wrestlemania payoffs. The general belief is that Lashley earned in the neighborhood of $1 million in 2007, despite missing months of action.

Believe it or not, wrestlers at a recent Smackdown/ECW taping were told Vince McMahon had fired Lashley to make an example out of someone that complained in the company.

Raw Spoilers for Next Week

Hornswoggle def. Mr. McMahon in a No DQ match
Started out with Vince trying to get Horny to slap him; when he finally does, McMahon is about to go crazy but Finlay runs down to protect Horny. Vince reminds Finlay that he could get fired and that his family doesn’t want that to happen. Finlay decides to do nothing and Vince tells Horny that Finlay is a coward. Vince tells Finlay to leave, he doesn’t, and Vince shoves Horny out of the way which leads to Finlay knocking Vince upside the head with the shilele (sp?). Hornswoggle hits the Tadpole splash for the win

Backstage Regal asks Vince if he can do anything for him. Vince says later tonight Finlay will be fired.

Chris Jericho def. JBL
Long match, about 15-20 minutes, but not that great. Ended when Jericho reversed the Clothesline from Hell into a Codebreaker. Afterwards Umaga runs down and spikes Jericho then JBL. Both are helped to the back.

Video airs on Flair’s career. Lots of NWA/WCW footage.

Regal has all the paperwork ready to fire Finlay but Vince has a change of heart. He announces Hornswoggle vs. Vince in a Steel Cage “next week” (the night after No Way Out)

Paul Birchill (with Katie Lea Birchill) def. Brian Kendrick
Nobody knew who Birchill was and I got weird looks for cheering him. Lea gets the mic and introduces herself. She says that she enjoys watching her brother inflict pain on people. Paul gets the mic and says that what his little sister wants, his little sister gets. Short squash with Birchill winning with the Roll of the Dice/Test Drive move. Birchill and Lea get a little frisky with each other on their exit. No heat whatsoever.

John Cena def. Mark Henry
Orton did color commentary. Basic Cena squash which saw him win with the STFU. Afterwards Cena gets on the mic and tells Orton that he’s 100% and he just inflicted that much damage on a 450 pound man, so imagine what he’ll do to Orton. He says that the title is his and Orton will have… No Way Out.

Kennedy comes out and says it’s decision time for Flair. Flair walks out, totally waking up the dead crowd (we were hot at first but try sitting through 4+ hours of wrestling and see how much you feel like cheering). Flair says he won’t back down and says Kennedy should respect that Flair hold the belt 16 times in order for Kennedy to hold it once. (or something like that, I’m really butchering a great Flair promo). Segment ends when Kennedy dropkicks Flair’s bad knee.

Melina (w/ Jillian) def. Maria (w/ Santino at commentary)
Eh match. Maria had it one but Jillian grabs a mic and starts singing, then goes and slips Santino the tongue. Maria gets rolled up for the loss. Santino gets on the mic and tells Maria that that meant nothing but she has to choose: either him or Playboy. He makes out with her and Maria looks upset.

Jeff Hardy def. Shawn Michaels
Awesome match. Went about 30 minutes. Lots of nearfalls and finisher teases. HBK hit an elbow drop at one point but could never hit the Sweet Chin Music. Finish came when Jeff reversed SCM into a Twist of Fate and hit the Swanton for the victory.

Various WWE News Notes

The current plan has Triple H winning the Raw Elimination Chamber at No Way Out.

Michael Hayes has pitched the idea of doing a Triple H vs. John Cena rematch at Wrestlemania billed as "HHH-Cena II."

Speaking of Triple H, as you might have guessed, he is still wanting to turn heel at some point.

Matt Striker became Big Daddy V's manager because they were worried that BDV would be cheered as a fan favorite.

This past Friday's edition of WWE SmackDown on the CW Network scored a 2.8 broadcast rating.

The Wrestleline report-Sunday

Just in case you hadn't heard, Brock Lesnar lost his debut UFC bout against Frank Mir. Sounds like he did pretty good at first, but once Mir locked in the submission hold it was over. There were also a mix of TNA and WWE stars in attendance.

Dave Meltzer is reporting that iMPACT! may start going live every other week as soon as March. If this does happen the tapings will be moved to Thursday and Friday.

Meltzer also reports that Spike TV is interested in airing a secondary TNA show that focuses only on the Knockouts. The show would air matches, photo shoots, interviews and more. It would most likely air on Saturday nights.

Former TNA talent Senshi aka Low Ki injured his knee during last night's New Japan event.

The new "stone cold" gimmick that Shark Boy is doing was his own idea.

At this time, TNA has no plans for Raven. From what we are hearing, they wouldn't mind he just simply quit the promotion.

Contract update for Team 3D. The tag team continues to work on a handshake deal and are allowed to leave at anytime they desire.

Friday Night Smackdown on the CW Network scored a 2.8 broadcast rating.

The paranoia levels have heightened in Stamford, CT in regards to the creative department. WWE is going to great lengths to prevent storyline leaks, and booking unpredictably to just to swerve fans.

If you watch the Superbowl, let me know your thoughts. All I can say is go Giants!

In an update on Lex Luger, while he is still wheelchair bound, he's beginning to get movement back in his legs and torso, and is also able to hold a can of coke in his hands. That's one tough guy right there.

In addition to having a role in the upcoming "Wrestler" movie, Ernest "The Cat" Miller will have a role in the upcoming tv series "The Legend of Bruce Lee", where he will play boxer Ernie Shavers.

Candice Michelle, Layla, Michelle McCool, Maria, and Torrie Wilson will all be a part of Bravo's upcoming season of Project Runway.

Well, Hogan Knows Best will not be back in it's usual fashion, although it's being rumored that Brooke will be. There's rumors going around that Brooke Hogan will have her own reality show coming up on VH1, due partially to the big Hogan family split between Hulk and Linda. VH1 has confirmed that they are in talks about the show, but it is not a definite as of yet.

Speaking of Brooke, she, along with Chyna and Florence Henderson-the mom from the Brady Bunch-are all rumored for the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars.

For those curious as to what Monty Brown aka Marcus Cor Von is up to these days-he's not doing anything wrestling related, but the door is still open for him to come back to WWE.
